One for the books today! I took Craig and their crew out for some inshore action with Puttin'n Sportsfishing in Virginia Beach this summer. We set off from 3323 Shore Dr on a partly cloudy morning, perfect conditions for what we had in mind. The water was calling our names as we headed out to the flats near Canal Road, ready to see what the day would bring.

Once the stage was set, we got down to business with some serious fishing. I showed the crew the ropes on bottom bouncing, drift fishing, and live bait fishing - all great techniques for the flats we were working. The redfish were biting, and we managed to land some beauties. The highlight of the day was a monster 68-inch redfish that put up one heck of a fight. What a great day on the water, couldn't ask for more action! Summer in Virginia Beach brought us perfect conditions for our 6-Hour Shared Offshore Cobia Fishing Trip. I headed out with Taron from Puttin'n Sportsfishing, leaving the dock at first light. The weather cooperated nicely, with partly cloudy skies throughout the day, giving us a mix of sun and shade as we worked the offshore waters. We set out from Adam Keeling Road, ready to see what the Atlantic had in store for us.

Once the stage was set, we got down to business. Our offshore adventure saw us employing a variety of techniques to target the fish. We started with some trolling, dragging lines behind the boat to cover more ground. When we found promising spots, we switched it up with some bottom fishing, dropping our lines deep to where the big ones hide. Jigging was also on the menu, giving our arms a workout as we worked those lures. The variety paid off - we managed to hook into some nice Summer Flounder and Redfish. The highlight reel included a 20-inch Summer Flounder and a 19-inch Redfish, both solid catches that put up a good fight. 

Offshore fishing is always an adventure, and today was no exception. While we were hoping to tangle with some Cobia, the flounder and redfish action more than made up for it. Every trip is different out here, and that's what keeps it exciting. We wrapped up our 6-hour journey with some good fish in the cooler and plenty of stories to tell.
